She discussed current the journalist's projects and asked for their expectations: “We would like to learn more about German media and trainings and jobs at Deutsche Welle.“ Media law, networks and marketing - Tarek Khello wants to improve his knowledge. He works as freelancer for a German public broadcaster.

Ola Aljari reported on her research for the European Centre for Press & Media Freedom (ECPMF) on the media coverage on refugees in Greece.

Syrian publisher Tarek Aziza (left) introduced his recent project: He works for the first bilingual newspaper for refugees: Abwab. The team wants to keep refugees informed about current discussions in Germany - and tries to help them to find their way.

The newspaper started in December 2015. It is a free monthly newspaper and is distributed also in refugee camps. An online version exists, but no App.

“Mobile Reporting - that's the future” says Petra Kohnen (DWA). "Everybody has a smartphone - and you just need one by yourself to publish good news and stories. You have to write a good business."

Deutsche Welle Academy and Engagement Global provide special workshops for journalists from the global south at the conference “Bildkorrekturen”. Petra Kohnen also introduced trainings at the Academy to the journalists.
